Tambun biscuits

Had not really had tambun biscuits for quite a while now, so chancing on some at the Chowrasta Market in Penang with my husband, I decided to get some.
These biscuits are made from wheat flour, sugar, mung bean, fried shallots, salt and vegetable oil .
The taste is slightly crispy like how a pastry would taste like and the inside is salty -sweet of beans and also fried shallots.
There are a few reputable brands around and one of the most oldest in Penang since 1856 is the Ghee Hiang company. .
