Movie Preview - Crazy Rich Asians

Rachel Chu is a New York University (NYU) professor of economics who is from California. She was raised by her single mother and leads a normal middle-class life.

Rachel is dating Nicholas Young who she thinks is a fellow professor... Unbeknownst to her and most people in NYC, Nick is actually comes from one of the top ten wealthiest families in Asia and is possibly sole heir to his family's great fortune.

Despite this wealth, Nicholas keeps a very low profile... He wants to bring Rachel home to meet his family and he is confident his family will approve of his girlfriend, but things turn out very differently than he expects...

As Rachel and Nick prepare for their, uh, casual "summer holiday," news has already spread across Singapore that Nick Young, the Nick Young, one of the wealthiest, most eligible bachelors on the island, has a new American girlfriend. Nick's mother, Eleanor, hears it from her group of friends and is far from pleased. Life for her, and for generations before, has been dictated by a highly intricate set of social rules.

On the other hand, despite warnings by his cousin, Astrid, that Rachel deserves to be forewarned about their family (and, frankly, about Nick's mother), Nick puts off telling Rachel of his complicated family dynamics or his monumental wealth.

Rachel is shocked when she gets shown into the First Class seating area when boarding the plane, insisting she is an Economy Class person... and Nicholas then just half confessed that he can afford it because of his family...

When they step off the plane, Rachel is has to put up with a whole load of toxic interactions from Eleanor as well as one of Nicholas's ex girlfriend.. that tests her patience and love for Nicholas.....

If you ask me how I feel about the movie, I think it is beautifully done.. I did so love the wedding ambience and it was just amazing looking at Singapore in a different light....

Should we watch it? Yeah I know I want to watch it again with my friends!!!! After all we have to be proud of our two Malaysians who made it into the film right... Datuk Michelle Yeoh and the good looking Henry Golding...
