Three Moms Get A Time Out in LIFETIME Asia’s First Original Production

LIFETIME debuts its new family reality series Mom’s Time Out on
August 28, featuring three families from Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines as they undertake a role reversal social experiment.  The three moms take a 5-day holiday in Vietnam together, leaving the dads to manage their kids and household.  Premiering every Thursday at 9pm, the five half-hour series showcases the interesting and sometimes funny results when these typically hands-off dads are left in charge.

“We wanted to explore the idea that being a mom is an attitude and not just a biological relation, so we tested this out on three fathers from Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. As our first original production for LIFETIME it was a fun and relatable subject for us to cut our teeth on,” says Chris Humphrey, Director, Production for A+E Networks Asia.

From Singapore, meet the Pangs… Dad Christopher and Mom Julie run a successful boutique real-estate company and have 3 boys (12-year-old Marcus, 8-year-old Michael and 4-year-old Matthew). Christopher and Julie often quarrel about their differing parenting principles – Dad is more for corporal punishment while Mom is all about positive reinforcement. What will happen then when Mom is away?

From Malaysia, meet the Jasons... Dad Jason is a motivational speaker who is a self-confessed workaholic who totally loves his job and probably often prioritizes it above his family. Mom Leishia is a homemaker and freelance writer who cares for their two daughters (4-year-old Arianna and 2.5-year-old Olivia). Will things spiral out of control when Mom is not around?

From the Philippines, meet the Baileys… Dad Kenneth and stay-at-home Mom Emerald have a 2.5-year-old daughter Briah who is adorable but can be quite a handful! With Dad being the sole breadwinner of the family working night shifts since Briah was born, he now has to take on one of the toughest challenges of his life to care for his daughter while Mom is away. Will he be able to handle it?

Mom’s Time Out encourages the theme of family, a strong focus in Asian culture, and attracted brands such as Angsana Lăng Cô, Central Vietnam, KidZania Kuala Lumpur, SANRIO HELLO KITTY TOWN and The Little Big Club to be part of the series.

Mom’s Time Out will bring to viewers an interactive second screen experience through a weekly parenting discussion. Viewers can stand to win a 3D2N stay for 2 at Angsana Lăng Cô, Central Vietnam when they download the ScanAd app on their Apple and Android devices.
