My cruise aboard the Costa Victoria -Day 3

Continuing on to the 3rd day.....

Being a Penangite , it was somewhat thrilling when you catch a different view of your hometown for once.. from the sea and early in the morning. I opened the door to the balcony upon waking up about 6.30 am and that was the view I saw... Penang in the horizon from the balcony of my cabin with an amazing sun rise....

Upon waking my little princess from her slumber,  we took another look and was even more surprised and thrilled to see to Port Swettenham up close and a ferry sailing by with the Penang Bridge in the distance. It was exhilarating in some ways I cannot really say...

We quickly headed to the Sinfonia Restaurant for breakfast where we had some eggs, and fruits as well as buns . I don't know but I find the buns and the butter at both the Sinfonia and Fantasia restaurant a yummy thing... LOL.

My little girl cannot get enough of them too.

Ok,anyway my little princess decided to be antisocial yet again and not want to get down from the ship, choosing to spend the day in the Squok Club yet again, so I let her have her way. I got on the gang plank and stepped foot for the first time in a totally different way in Penang... before this, I used to travel via flight, bus, or car.. this was a totally new experience stepping onto Penang soil from Port Swettenham.

And hey, there was a team of Tourism Malaysia/Penang staff waiting to greet passengers off the ship with kompang and national costumes with Penang brochures....

A peek back at the ship from the Swettenham Port...

And turning back towards Penang .... these were the views that greeted me...

A picture of Costa Victoria from the back....

Hellllooooo there neighbour.... a SuperStar Gemini Star Cruise ship...

Ok.. So I called my elder daughter who was in Penang visiting her grand mother and father, and she came and we spent some time together with her auntie's best friend Shikin, then before 1pm, they sent me back to the ship...

This time we had a new neighbour.. the Amusement World ship harboured or is it anchored next to our ship...

On getting back to my cabin, my steward had left us a cute surprise in the shape
of a towel origami ... how cute!! Don't you think, with my little girl's soft toys/
best friends at the side....

I had lunch for the day at Sinfonia restaurant.. Don't ask me why but I just wanted
to check out the buffet line there....

There you have it....some of the food served....

And this was what I took.....the prawns and the mussels were truly the best of them...
very flavorful and yummy...

I am a girl who love my dessert.... sighh... I know it is bad for my figure but I just can't help it..

Then the sight of the tug boat pulling the ship to the open sea fascinated me. Thanks to my friends and  mutual fund clients who are the harbour pilots I learnt a bit about this but nevertheless it was fascinating to see a small boat pulling the huge ship to the open seas... my daughter exclaimed with disbelief when I told her...

We also got to see some waiters in action with napkin folding /origami lessons...

And room stewards showing off their amazing skills creating fascinating animals and such with just a towel or two or three!!!

Amazing, don't you think, how they create these....

And some fruit carving demonstration by one of the chefs onboard...

And when evening came, my little princess wanted to go to the swimming pool again..
and so we went....

While she swam, her mother could not resist a few photos of her and the ship...

Then we went back to the cabin to get changed and then attend the ship's gala dinner at the Sinfonia restaurant on Boheme Deck 5

Our appetizer was the Deep Fried Cube Swordfish served with Pine Nuts and Lemon Vinaigrette... The name was scary at the thought of eating a swordfish but it was very tasty.  Both my little girl and I loved it...

The soup was a Crab Meat soup with Sweet Corn.... It was ok, not bad, but not one of our favourites for the night

This is the Italian Risotto with Seafood Sauce Marinara Style. I kinda liked it, but my little girl only finished all the seafood and said the Risotto wasn't to her liking...

Then we had the main meal, an Oven Baked Lobster with Crustacean Sauce Served with Pumpkin Flan, Broccoli and Spaghetti tossed with Pesto Sauce.

I liked it... Everything was quite nice but well... except for the pumpkin flan because I guess we are not quite used to eating much pumpkin around  in Malaysia... LOL

Then we had the Ice Cream of the Day which was chocolate vanilla ice cream and Fresh Seasonal Mix Fruits for dessert....

When dinner was over, we went to the Festival theatre to watch our show for the night.. Rich and Famous Musical Show...

and went to the Concorde Plaza to peek at the Romantic Night- Dance with the Officers they had ....along with a mini lucky draw....

When it was over both my little girl and I went back to our cabin and our comfy bed for the night.....
