Rantings on a hotel stay in Langkawi

A lovely chandelier at the hotel...

I am on a holiday in Langkawi. And I booked myself into a lovely hotel/service apartment and with the rest of my family members, we envisioned a happy holiday here...

Sadly, that is not the case.. the hotel /service apartment along with the scenery and pool here may be quite gorgeous... But the service and the food sucks...

To protect the privacy of this hotel and to give it some semblance of dignity , I will not be naming the hotel here... But if you are following my Facebook or Instagram, you probably can figure it out...

I have apparently made a bad choice in selecting this hotel as the place to put up in for this family trip and it costed me RM1500 for this mistake...

It is obvious that the management is lousy and this itself is casting a shade on my holiday.. the Sales Manager promised me to help me with the rental of a car when she talked me into picking her hotel/apartment during my purchase at the MATTA fair but she never even bothered to respond to any of my messages and WhatsApp when I asked her about it.

Then the breakfast was pathetic at the temporary venue on the mezzanine floor because of an ongoing event. There was no fan or air conditioning, food was not replenished on time, there was only onions for your omelette, the koay teow was drowning in oil, the tom yam soup was tasteless other then being spicy. The tables were not set up and there were dirty cutleries in with the clean ones...

And as I was the one who organized this stay, can you just imagine my embarrassment towards the rest of my family members, especially when a few of my family members have lots of experience in staying in hotels etc...

Oh gosh...  I won't have minded a basic and simple breakfast set even if it's just nasi lemak or noodles or just bread and egg but it should be edible,  tasteful and nicely presented  right....  Huhuhu  . In this case, I really would say even a budget hotel's buffet breakfast would cast a shade on this hotel's breakfast.

I can so recall a fabulous breakfast prepared for my niece and me on a very lovely budget hotel stay while travelling on a shoe string budget in Yogyakarta and another one at a backpacker's place in Bangkok...

And hah... When my mother requested for warm water from the waitress, she was told there was none.... I kid you not, in this lovely supposedly 4 star hotel there is no warm water anywhere!!!

We were given a complimentary barbecue dinner by the beach, and because of the event, we were asked to sit at another area, which was perfectly fine for me except for the fact that the F& B staff did not even bother to put any candles and the lights at the pool were turned off and only turned on when requested. The rattan kind of chairs were mostly with holes and very badly kept. The barbecue spread was considerable but, most of the meat.. the chicken and he lamb were kind of like tasteless...not seasoned with enough flavorings...

Sighh.. I wonder if there is even a chef in the hotel and if he is being paid enough... Or perhaps they do not have the budget for it...sigh

And in the rooms, the towels smelled stinky even though they have been replaced...

They were also supposed to arrange for me and my family to go to the wildlife park nearby and up until final hour... The tickets were nowhere to be seen...

Ok.. I will finish my rant for today here... Hehehe .. and will add on if and when I can think of some more to add..

One thing is for sure.. I won't be heading here again unless another more respectable management company takes over this place.....
