Dining at the KIP Hotel

As you know, the KIP Hotel is a very lovely business class hotel which is vibrant and very inviting along Jalan Kuching... If you do not know, read HERE ... What about the food?

When it comes to dining (or feasting)... there are currently two main places... though they have drinks available at Aqua by The Pool on the 5th Floor, and even at the  AtSixlounge area on the 6th Floor of the hotel and also I really can't wait to see The Atop, once the place is opened...

The Atop, as the name suggests, affords guest a panoramic view of the city from the skybar as you can take the time to enjoy lively music and great drinks...

Then there is the ACAJ  Art Cafe  (All Coffee All Juices), which a very charming rustic art cafe...

The place is clean, neat with wooden furnishing and green...

...and you can find amazing desserts, pastries, croissants and more then 20 choices of different types of coffee, tea or juices here.....

Feeling peckish any time of the day, just head over to Aroma their All Day Dining Restaurant which serves really great food...and affordable and yummy buffet as well...

My family, consisting of my husband, our daughter and me were there for lunch and we ordered from the Ala Carte menu...The dishes are all specially prepared by their Executive Chef Simon Lee and his team of amazing chefs !!!

There are ample seats all around the Aroma...

My mini me, decidedly having a very Malaysian palate decided to go for the Pasti Sedap Nasi Lemak (RM23.00) . The rice was well flavoured with coconut milk and fluffy, and the dish came accompanied with fried egg, peanuts, anchovies (ikan bilis), sambal and yummy chicken curry kapitan... and well, my mini me swore the Nasi Lemak lived up to the name and was definitely one of the best she has eaten....

My husband ordered one of those Japanese Bento Boxes...the Salmon Teriyaki Bento (RM31.00) - that came with nicely grilled salmon fish fillet with teriyaki sauce, chukka wakame, takuan, Japanese rice, salad, miso soup and sliced watermelon...

He loved the sauce so much he complained there wasn't enough when it was all gone.... LOL. The salmon was nicely grilled and tender. It was really good and both my daughter and I kept trying to steal bites off the bento box too, despite having our own dishes...

For me, I had a hard choice decided what I want to eat as the menu seemed to be full of my favourite food.... but finally I decided to go with the Salmon Fish Head Noodles (RM16.00) which consisted of  rice noodles and nicely fried salmon fish head pieces cooked in fish broth with evaporated milk served with some pickled mustard, tofu, and tomato....

I loved the soup which was soooo flavourful, and of course, the generous pieces of cut salmon fish head meat pieces....very yummy...

To quench our thirst, we had a glass of fresh orange juice (RM12.00) and a mango smoothie (RM10.00) which you can get from ACAJ too.....and they came with a little ice and no sugar...very healthy and refreshing, especially on a hot day...

Since it was a Friday night, the hotel was serving a lovely buffet spread as well.. and very affordable RM39 nett only!! Very affordable.... So there is no reason not to bring your girlfriend/boyfriend, spouse or family over for a nice meal in a nice ambience....

The buffet spread may be simple  but it is very fulfilling and I think it is great value for money as the food is delicious and you get a nice ambience here as well...

There is the Japanese Egg Beancurd, cooked in eggy gravy... one of my favourites ....

..Stirfried vegetables, consisting of cauliflower, broccoli, fuchuk and beancurd as well as juicy big shiitake mushrooms in delicious accompanying gravy...

.. fish lovers like me will enjoy the fish fillet in black bean sauce, with capsicum.... it is very delicious eaten with white rice or just on its own......

Then there is 'ayam masak merah', chicken cooked with tomato sauce and chilli etc....you can eat this with the nasi tomato served as well....

I am a koay teow lover, so how can I resist this Fried Koay Teow..... the koay teow was evenly fried and flavorful...

Don't forget to add the egg foo yong into your plate... you will enjoy this Chinese style omelette lots....

... and a Malaysian favorite... Satay!!!

I have not eaten roast duck in a while, so this came as a very pleasant surprise and I really enjoyed it.....

My husband being a huge fan of fried food and fritters was visibly delighted with this table where he had his choice of fried spring rolls, fried fuchuk and other fried delicacies...

Hot drink choices.... coffee or tea or me???? OK ...not me... the 'me' was just a joke.. heheh

For dessert, there are slices of marble cake or butter cake to tempt you..

Or how about these delectable fruit cake...

mochi anyone???

or chocolate rice balls???

maybe some adorable and scrumptious fruit tartlets...

These are not all there is... there are also a selection of jelly and pudding and sometimes they serve really nice seafood as well... so you really should bring your friends, love ones and family over there to Aroma to have a meal....

And yes... since Chinese New Year is just around the corner, Gong Xi Fa Chai yaaa.....hehehe .. Have a Happy Prosperous Chinese New Year.....
