IPC Celebrates Christmas with “Ӓndra’s Enchanting Garden”

IPC Shopping Centre is stepping up their green approach through its twice-recycling concept to their Christmas decorations with sustainability rooted at their core....

Through new creative and innovative efforts and ongoing commitment to minimize landfill wastes, the festive decorations and structures are made of sustainable materials such as recycled paper and compressed wood boards through the narrative of “Ӓndra’s Enchanting Garden” which will seamlessly transform from winter to spring. The focus of these sustainable decorations is to reuse and recycle, while at the same time inspiring shoppers that festive celebrations can be sustainable and fun, without compromise.

The inspiration and narrative for this year’s Christmas and upcoming Chinese New Year celebration is Ӓndra the Rabbit. Ӓndra, which means ‘change’ in Swedish is friends with Dala, the iconic Swedish horse and Tomte.

Together they have come up with an idea to utilize Ӓndra’s magical garden to ensure shoppers are amazed and enter a magical wonderment that is sustainable, green, and festive. The theme “Ӓndra’s Enchanting Garden” aims to showcase the power of sustainability by combining and reusing decorations for both festive seasons with a magical twist.

Ms Karyn Lim, General Manager of IPC Shopping Centre, said, “This year IPC has championed and celebrated many sustainable milestones and we are looking to continue this momentum for the long-term. We also pushed our boundaries and creativity to ensure that we came up with new and innovative ways to ensure our festive celebration was not only fun, but sustainable at the same time. We call this concept twice-recycling where we want to minimize wastage while celebrating the festivities with our shoppers. We hope to set a benchmark in the local retail industry to encourage others in embracing an environmental conscious mindset as sustainability is our shared responsibility.”

“To add on to our festivities and to reward our shoppers in conjunction with our 19th Anniversary, we have also added new enhancements to our Tack Club loyalty programme where shoppers can convert their shopping spend into points for additional rewards. Shoppers will receive double Tack Points this December along with the addition of new personalised avatars and interest selection. This is part of our digital enhancements to ensure a rewarding and personalised shopping experience for all” added Karyn.

This Christmas season, shoppers will receive a RM10 Christmas e-voucher with a minimum spend of RM200 and a special eco-friendly biodegradable Swedish happi.kloth with a minimum spend of RM600. IPC Tack Club members will enjoy the same promotional offers at a lower shopping value of RM500. There are also many Christmas promotions by tenants with year-end deals for shoppers to shop till they drop with friends and family.

Shoppers will also be entertained with fun and exciting activities such as free weekend sustainable arts and crafts children’s workshops for Små Club members....

....festive Christmas performances with carollers to lift the mood as well as kid’s favourite mascots - Tomte, Swedish Maidens and Små Club Buddies who will be making their rounds for a meet and greet. There will also be a Christmas Bazaar held at the concourse where shoppers will be spoilt for choice with a variety of gifts and great deals.

In efforts to further enhance its loyalty programme and elevate shopping experiences, shoppers and Tack Club members can convert their spending into Tack Points and exchange these points for a wide variety of rewards on the IPC mobile application. To enjoy this, simply download the IPC mobile application, sign up as a Tack Club member for free and earn points for all spending done at IPC. Year-end shopping will be even more rewarding for the whole month of December as shoppers get to redeem double Tack Points for every purchase and exclusive e-vouchers on the IPC mobile application. To convert spending into Tack Points, shoppers will need to head over to i-Counter on Level G with their receipts for validation to receive points instantly.

Using data to create personalised experiences, another enhancement made to the IPC mobile app is the addition of personalised avatars. Tack Club members can now personalise their profile based on their category of interest such as cooking, beauty, children, pets and many more. These interests are then picked up by the system and shoppers will receive customized notifications on promotions and events based on their selected interest. Their selected interest will also be visible through icons that can added on to customize their avatar appearance.

IPC Shopping Centre’s 19th Anniversary
To further add on to the celebrations, IPC Shopping Centre is also celebrating its 19th Anniversary this 17th and 18th December where they are giving away a specially designed cutlery holder set for free to IPC Tack Club members throughout the two days. Members will just need to show their membership ID on their IPC mobile application to the customer service officers at i-Counter on Level G for the redemption.

Riding on the football wave, IPC is also hosting its very own football challenge called “Dare to Goal” which is open to all Tack Club and little Små Club members (aged 6 to 12 years old) to participate on 17th and 18th December. Divided into three different sections, participants can put their skills to the test at the balance, accuracy, and agility stations where they stand a chance to win IPC Goodie Bags, cutlery holder set, and up to 400 Tack Points.

HADA LABO TO PLANT 1,000 TREES WITH RM60,000 RAISED

Hada Labo’s ‘We Care For Nature 2022’ fundraising campaign in partnership with Watsons Malaysia and Malaysia Nature Society (MNS) was a success with RM60,000 raised from RM1 of the sales proceeds of every bottle of Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion sold in the month of October at Watsons nationwide.
With the fund raised, Hada Labo will be contributing to the planting of 1,000 forest trees on a two-hectare land in Hutan Simpan Sungai Besi Tambahan. Apart from ensuring sustainable environment, planting of the forest trees will also offer refuge and food for the wildlife.

I.S Shanmugaraj, the Executive Director of Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) said the country has moved forward with rapid development and construction which resulted in less green lungs in the city area. Hence, Hada Labo’s “We Care For Nature 2022” is important to rejuvenate the city by adding thousand more trees and helping generates latest green zone.

“As we are facing climate change issues, no doubt that tree planting is not only helping to provide a shelter and creating new home for the urban wildlife like bird, squirrel, and small mammal species but it is also the best remedy to fight climate change. Moreover, as the trees grow, the root system also will help to hold the ground and creates a stronghold to reduce the risk of erosion or landslide from happening in the vicinity. It is our hope that this two-pronged initiative not only helps to reduce climate change impact but prevents landslide in the future too.” added Shanmugaraj.

Rohto-Mentholatum (M) Sdn Bhd General Manager Lim Mei Yuen said Hada Labo hopes to plant more trees in the years to come in ensuring a sustainable environment for our future generation.

“Our focus now is to plant more trees in the Klang Valley as we’ve seen massive development taking place here. We will consider branching out to neighbouring vicinity with our tree planting effort in time to come,” she said.

“We believe that clean and green environment leads to good health. Hada Labo’s greening effort is not limited to just planting trees but also in advocating a clean environment through a call for recycling.

Hada Labo customers can bring in any full-size skincare empty bottles in exchange for its lotion,” added Lim.

Lim would also like to thank the warm response from the public in making contribution to plant 1,000 forest trees through Hada Labo’s ‘We Care For Nature’ campaign.

ROHTO EYE CARE RAISES RM135,000 FOR MYOPIA AWARENESS, SPONSOR PRESCRIPTION GLASSES FOR B40 STUDENTS

Rohto Eye Care, World No.1 eye care brand has successfully raised RM135,000 for its “Sending Love & Care: Children with Myopia – Joy of Seeing” CSR campaign.

This was done through a month-long fundraising initiative in collaboration with Watsons whereby RM1 from the sales proceeds of all Rohto Eye Care products sold in Watsons from 1st to 31st August 2022 was channelled to the campaign fund.

Myopia is an increasingly common condition amongst children. According to global trends, it is estimated that by 2050, half of the world’s population could be affected and this condition is highly prevalent in Asia. Although genetics is a key factor in developing myopia, lifestyle also plays an important factor in the onset of myopia such as usage of digital devices for long hours, reading under dim lighting and the lack of sleep.

In this campaign, Rohto Eye Care joined hands with Kiwanis Malaysia District and Focus Point Vision Care Group Sdn Bhd to reach out to the rural schools in creating awareness of Myopia and also to identify B40 students in need of prescriptive glasses.

Beneficiaries of this campaign include Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Parit Mahang in Jeram and SK Bukit Badong in Ijok. Both schools combined, have total of over 1,760 students, with 50 percent the students belonging to B40 families.

According to Lim Mei Yuen, General Manager of Rohto-Mentholatum, the main objective of the Rohto Eye Care ‘Sending Love & Care The Joy of Seeing’ campaign is to help increase awareness of Myopia amongst children and to educate them on ways of taking good care of their eyes.

“Through this meaningful campaign, Rohto Eye Care will donate 200 pairs of prescriptive glasses to the B40 children. We hope to help them to improve their vision, which will in turn enhance their learning capabilities”, she said.

Over the course of 4 days, approximately 840 students were offered eye screening to determine if they needed prescription glasses.

To make Myopia education more fun at the schools, Rohto Eye Care also incorporated activities such as a blindfold game and art competition, which aimed to remind students about the importance of sight.

One of the students, Nur Damia Habriyah binti Mohamad Norzaki who was blindfolded during the game said that he understood how losing sight feels and will start taking better care of his eyes.
“I will also be kind and help others who have lost their sight to carry out tasks because it is scary and difficult to do anything when you cannot see,” Habriyah added

We are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Rohto Eye Care’s campaign as it helps our students understand the importance of their sight. Moreover, this is the first time that our school was chosen for this program. So we truly appreciate it,” said Pn. Noraliza Binti Ngawam, Headmistress of SK Parit Mahang.

Other than an outreach to primary schools, Rohto Eye Care in collaboration with Focus Point also held an educational talk show on Myopia via a Facebook Live session to raise awareness of Myopia and to educate the public on eye care tips.
