The need for Movement Control Order and looking out for each other....

In an effort to control the Covid-19 outbreak in Malaysia, the movement control order (MCO) was implemented on March 18, 2020... It was supposedly until end of March but has been extended until 14th April, 2020...

However, as much as I want to desperately go back to my daily life, its not going to be possible anytime soon..

And I won't be surprise if the MCO or partial lockdown is extended until end of April 2020 considering the steady 3 digit new cases daily being reported...

It is important that everyone understands the seriousness of the outbreak and how life threatening covid19 is to many...

MCO's main objective would be encouraging social distancing, which people now must learn to lessen contact with other people unless there is an absolute need....

It involves an increase in the physical space between people... This is hard for someone affectionate and who loves to show affection but well, we have to learn to be "distant and cold" now in some ways rather then touchy feely, and huggy...

This is because the virus is spread when an infected person coughs or sneezes out droplets containing large amounts of the virus into the air, which is can be breathed in by another person standing nearby, thus the 6 feet or 1 metre rule is for your own safety as well as the people around you...

The virus infection also happens when you come into contact with droplets that have landed on a surface, then touch your face...

Thus governments almost all over the world now are forcing their citizens into partial lockdowns and educating them to maintain a distance of one to two metres from another person, in the hope of stopping or at least successfully controlling the virus spread...

For most people, the coronavirus causes only mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough. But for some others, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia. The vast majority of people recover in a matter of weeks....

So to get rid or actually lower the threat and spread of COVID19 we have to comply with the MCO/partial lockdown whether we like it or not...

I too believe in God and that if its time to die, we will die, but why would you want to flout the rules and just continue being stubborn and spread this virus around to others around you..

Your loved ones, your friends and the people around you... When you spread the virus around and if someone dies from it, their deaths are on you.. You caused their deaths indirectly and that makes you a murderer...

However, it is not so nice getting locked down either but we all have to bear with it..

Some people are locked down in comfort, in beautiful homes and that is the best lockdown that is, your own comfortable space...

Others are locked down in just rooms, like me.. As I can only afford a room for me and my daughter... It can be pretty hot as I don't have an air conditioner and my room faces the morning and noon sun... but I take many showers when it gets unbearable... I am still grateful when I think of others who have so much more less...

There are those locked down in squallid and even more cramped conditions.. Those who are poor, as well as those migrant and immigrant workers...

There are also those who are locked in abusive homes (been there, done that, so I know how it feels like) where they are verbally, mentally and physically abused by their partners, spouse or parents...

This is a nightmare they can't get out of and knowing how it is, my heart bleeds for them and I really hope people/neighbours or other family members who are aware of this report to the authorities of such a thing happens...

But whatever it is, let this be a lesson not to be selfish and that we need to look out for one another, love and care for one another and lets pray covid19 virus will go away real soon.... And that everyone we care for are at home safe and free from the virus... And that we can soon get back to our everyday lives... Well, whatever semblance there is considering there will tend to be social distancing practices and no mass gatherings allowed....

For now, lets comply and for heaven's sake, please take care of your body's immunity by eating healthy food and supplements and taking care of your personal hygiene...

Take a shower when you come home from buying essentials and food before touching anyone... And of course... Sanitise and wash your hands as frequent as you can... And drink plenty of water....

For now, stay home, be safe and lets look out for each other....
