A teacher from Primary School asks her students to write a essay about what they would like God to do for them... At the end of the day, while marking the essays, she read one that made her very emotional.
Her husband, who had just walked in, saw her crying and asked her, 'What happened?'
She answered, 'Read this. It is one of my students' essay.'
'Oh God, tonight I ask you something very special:
Make me into a television. I want to take its place and live like the TV in my house. Have my own special place, And have my family around ME. To be taken seriously when I talk....
I want to be the centre of attention and be heard without interruptions or questions. I want to receive the same special care that the TV receives even when it is not working. Have the company of my dad when he arrives home from work, even when he is tired.
And I want my mom to want me when she is sad and upset, instead of ignoring me... And... I want my brothers to fight to be with me...
I want to feel that family just leaves everything aside, every now and then, just to spend some time with me. And last but not least, ensure that I can make them all happy and entertain them...
God, I don't ask you for much... I just want to live like a TV.'
At that moment the husband said, 'My God, poor kid. What horrible parents!'
The wife looked up at him and said, 'That essay is our son's!!!

Our mothers cooked, cleaned and took care of the whole family.
They still had time to chat with neighbors.

Prefects were a fearful lot. Detention class was like going to prison for a day.
We had "public caning" in school and no one dared to complain for fear of the same thing being repeated at home.

Durian tasting in kampung
Hubby decided to get mother in law, step son, little daughter and me to go and search for durians to eat.
We took a drive from Sri Gombak to Greenwood but the durian stall there was practically empty, so we went towards UIA and finally found some nice durian kampung and durian daun/hutan at a roadside stall...
This is a kampung durian. "Kampung" is the Malay word for "village". "Durian Kampung" means that these durian fruits do not come from a plantation but from a village… from original durian trees, and not from trees that have been grafted, or genetically manipulated. No plantation durian can match the taste of a durian kampung. I guess it is kind or an "organic" durian

This is a durian daun or durian hutan from the aboriginals living near this kampung. The durian is smaller then the normal durian, green skin color and supposedly, according to the seller, the fruit only grows every 2 years once. The thorns are much more slimmer and sharper in comparison to the other durians. and the inside fruit is yellow in color and quite... nice..
My dear hubby decided to go on a spree then and ordered 4 durians and by the time I was done, I swear off eating anymore durians for the next 3 months!!! And they say durian is bad for your waistline and cause you to gain weight!!!!
Anyway, do you know the benefits of eating durian?
Durian Fruit Benefits For Health:
1. A good source of energy:
100 grams of this fruit satiates about 21% of the daily carbohydrate requirement. Being a rich source of carbohydrates, it is helpful in replenishing your energy levels.
2. Acts as a natural anti-depressant:
Studies have proven that low levels of serotonin could actually trigger depression. Durian is naturally rich in Vitamin B6 which is essential for the production of serotonin. Hence, the intake of durian is advised to boost serotonin levels and thus, tide over depression.
3. For healthy bones and teeth:
The presence of calcium, potassium and B vitamins in significant amounts makes this fruit beneficial for maintaining healthy teeth and bones.
4. Aids in delaying aging:
Vitamin C is found in abundance in this fruit. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps to keep the oxidative stress prompted by free radicals at bay. The lower the oxidative stress levels, the slower the aging process.
5. For a healthy digestive system:
The presence of dietary fiber in durian helps in easing bowel movement. This in turn keeps away constipation and improves the power of digestion. The presence of thiamin and niacin improves appetite as well as digestive power, thus ensuring that your digestive system stays healthy.
6. Maintaining blood sugar levels:
The presence of manganese in desired levels aids in the regulation and maintenance of blood sugar levels. Hence, it can be relished by diabetics without any fear.
(not very sure about this, but hmmm)
7. Maintaining blood pressure levels:
Durian is a good source of potassium which is required to keep the sodium levels of the human body intact. Regular intake of this fruit can thus ward off hypertension and associated medical conditions.
8. Beneficial for Anaemic patients:
Folate, if not present in adequate quantities, could lower the amount of red blood cells produced. This in turn can trigger anaemia. Durian is a good source of folate along with copper and iron. Hence, anaemic patients can tap the power of this fruit to overcome the health condition.
9. Helps to prevent cardiovascular diseases:
The presence of organosulfur helps it to regulate the inflammatory enzymes. Hence, it has the potential to keep cardiovascular diseases away.
10. For a better libido:
Durian is known to enhance libido. Thus, it helps in revitalizing your sexual life.

Reviewing Sasatinnie Foot Boots Pomegranate
I got this packet a few weeks ago and I found it again yesterday in my cupboard while clearing up some stuff. So I decided to use it.
To use it, open up the packet and you will find a huge sheet kind of weirdly shaped. You will see that there are dotted lines in the middle section. Tear it according to the lines and you will have 2 pieces of the foot mask/bootee.
You really have to clean your feet before using it to only ensure that the ultimate absorption of the essence but also there won’t be any bacteria or germs battling the essence of the bootee!
(oh dear... I don't know why this picture is upside down... :-( )
Let your feet soak in the bootee for 20-30minutes. In that duration, you can feel the coolness of the essence absorbing into your skin. You can then read a book or play some games on your tablet/computer to while the time away.
I have really dry feet and wearing high heels and slippers does not help at all. So using this Bootee with its essence is really wonderful. After about 30 minutes, I removed the bootee and massage the remaining essence on my feet. You can feel the smoothness of your feet fully moisturized! The suggested usage is 2-3 times a week for 4 weeks continuously.
Read the back of the packaging for full details. I got this packet from Sasa for RM7.90 and will go back for more as I like it!!!! Go get one and try..
A cute kitten
Ok this posting is probably a little dumb as I am posting just for the sake of posting. My dear hubby took our little girl to the pet shop a couple of days ago and I had to tag along, like it or not. Then in front of the pet shop, there were a few cages, where there was some rabbits, cats, guinea pigs, etc..etc...
In the cats cage, I was pleasantly surprised to see a mother cat nursing some of her babies while a couple other played around... and one of these kittens seem to be looking at me and I could not resist stealing a couple of shots of it. Enjoy...

Isn't it adorable... who could resist it.. I think she or he is a persian mixed considering the mom has long fur....

My Chinese New Year Celebration...
Early in the morning, my little daughter is all excited and insisted to dress up in cheong sam and wear make up. Here she is with a huge grin on her face. Today is the day she gets to explore her Chinese roots and customs... I had made her wash her hair the night before and explained to her some of the Chinese taboos...
My daughters and me...at a very close family friend's house, a ritual we do every year without fail...
Whilst in between laksa and nasi beriyani, also a regular menu in this open house, my eldest daughter take some time off to check her chats and facebook...
Yours truly is vain enough to fit in a selfie too...
Home made yee sang... also a regular thing done ... and this one's very special....
...... because it is done with everyone... Indian, Malay and Chinese, our friendship blossoms and we all "Lo Hei" together. This is truly 1 Malaysia... and this happens every year in our friend's open house....
Note:The tradition of Lo Hei stems from the phrase’s Cantonese meaning of ‘tossing up good fortune’ using Ye Sang or Raw Fish Salad that symbolises ‘an abundance of wealth and long life’. The word hei or ‘rise’ is in reference to a thriving business or prosperity and thus its popularity amongst the businessmen during the Lunar New Year. Consisting of white and green radish, carrots, capsicum, turnips, red pickled ginger, slices of raw fish (commonly salmon), crackers, topped with fragrant dressing of plum sauce, five spice powder, sesame oil, this dish is usually served as an appetiser. Families and friends gather to toss the ingredients while saying auspicious well wishes out loud to usher in good luck. It is also believed the higher you toss the ingredients in the salad, the greater your fortunes will be.
Happy Prosperous Chinese New Year... may the horses bring speedy happiness, fortunes, good luck, good health and prosperity to you all....
