Shopee Unveils 2024 Raya Fashion Trends Online

Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, unveiled Raya Stail Kita study of Malaysian shopping preferences online this Ramadan and Raya season. 

The survey of over 1,000 online shoppers conducted last month reveals a rich tapestry of influences, from modest wear to nostalgic traditions, guiding Malaysians’ personal fashion styles and beauty trends. 

Every year, the platform observes its peak e-commerce shopping and delivery periods for 52 days over Ramadan and Raya as Malaysians actively seek clothes and accessories to prepare for balik kampung.


The overwhelming majority of Malaysians, over 9 in 10 surveyed, are driven to shop foremost by coordinating looks with their whole family this Raya. 

Within this group, 50% want colour- coordinated outfits, 16% match in comfort and practicality for specific functions, 14% pick one fabric, brand, or theme to wear, and 12% pick a 2024 trend to follow. Only a minority, 8%, of shoppers do not consider what their families are wearing when they shop online.

In selecting the style of their Raya outfits, half of Malaysian shoppers express preference for statement-making layers of colours, patterns, and fabrics, such as eye-popping vibrant prints from Bayu Somerset, bright sampins from Zoey Rahman’s Mikawear, and textured lace by Zoe Arissa. 

Four in ten preferred nostalgic and traditional styles such as checkered print sarongs from Asikin Ahmad and kaftan kurungs from Hernes.
 
Whereas 15% are searching for outfits in a particularly trending colour from sellers like Inhanna, Indah Persona, Panda Eyes, and Adnaa as they type ‘red brick,’ ‘brown orange’, or ‘bata merah,’ in their keywords on Shopee’s search bar.

When asked, “What motivates your Raya shopping choices on Shopee?”, half of survey respondents said that they select upcoming Raya outfits driven by religious and cultural traditions, referencing Shopee’s personalised fashion selections and keyword search recommendations to find modest wear outfits to add to cart. 

A third of respondents look for Shopee sellers’ wide range of baju kebaya, baju kurung, and baju melayu offerings in various fabrics and prints in order to celebrate their individuality and express their personal style. Two in ten pick modern outfits in line with latest trends.

Across the platform, Malaysians overwhelmingly prefer cotton (over 50%) as the fabric of choice, followed by silks (20%) and Songket (15%). A minority shop for brocade and organza. The top colours Malaysians are shopping for this Raya are: neutral tones (50%), then flaming vibrant colours like reds, oranges and gold yellow (30%), followed by solid dark greens and purples (20%).


In fact, the most popular baju according to Raya Stail Kita is cotton in neutral tones, with 3 in 10 buying this. The survey also reveals that 90% of Malaysians surveyed will wear their Baju Raya multiple times throughout the year, a sign that sustainable values have taken root even during the busiest e-commerce shopping period.

In addition to fashion, Malaysians are actively shopping for makeup and cosmetic skincare this Raya, from popular local brands such as Y.O.U, Wardah, Simply Siti, Silky Girl, Papa Feel, Mika Series, lemooc, Emina, Dazzle Me, Barrenbliss, alha alfa, and AISASEA on Shopee. 


The majority of Raya Stail Kita survey respondents prioritise beauty and makeup product benefits (40%), followed by brand loyalty (30%), and trending skincare (20%).
When making decisions on beauty products, a significant 70% surveyed trust beauty influencers and expert recommendations, whereas 30% prefer to make independent choices. Shopee Live plays a big role in how Malaysians shop beauty, with 90% tuning into Shopee Live to watch featured products, and 4 in 10 of these live audience members specifically seeking skincare benefits and long-lasting makeup.


When asked what features of the Shopee platform enhanced their Raya shopping journeys the most, 60% of Malaysians surveyed are cashing in on exclusive discounts and promotions during #RayaBersamaShopee campaign. 

30% choose to shop on Shopee for its wide variety of product selections and ease of finding the sellers’ products, while 10% trust in Shopee’s customer service, user-friendly interface, and Livestream capabilities.

In choosing sellers of choice to buy from, customer reviews play a crucial role, with 85% of respondents considering them important, particularly valuing verified Shopee purchases and Shopee's customer feedback.

A Successful Intimate Night With Fabio Asher and Aizat Amdan

Tanjak Adventure & Tour successfully organized ‘An Intimate Night With Fabio Asher and Aizat Amdan,’ recently featuring the collaboration of two renowned singers familiar to music enthusiasts in Malaysia and Indonesia. 


The concert which was held at JioSpace, Petaling Jaya on 24th February 2024 marked the first shared stage performance for Fabio Asher and Aizat Amdan. 


However, both artistes delivered an amazing show for their fans, belting out 24 songs in total (12 songs each), and a special duet - Sinaran (made popular by Sheila Majid) performed by both artists in a special collaboration session which sent the fans clamouring for more…. 


Aizat Amdan, a household name in the Malaysian music industry was discovered on Malaysia’s biggest reality TV show ‘Akademi Fantasia’ more than a decade ago, and catapulted to stardom and has since written countless hit songs and has won a number prestigious awards in the local and regional music arena, including the Best Vocal Performance for the Anugerah Industri Muzik (AIM) and the regional Anugerah Planet Muzik (APM), and even Best Song and Best Performance at the Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL), one of the longest-running song competitions in Malaysia…..


Fabio Asher started singing from junior high and has also won several local singing competitions as qell as  coming out as one of the TOP 30 finalist in Xfactor Indonesia 2021. 



Fabio’s debut single “Bertahan Terluka" tells a story about a person who is willing to fight & sacrifice everything for his true love even though the person he loves keeps hurting him. 


This would be Fabio’s third concert in Kuala Lumpur, but he still manage to give his fans a unique experience while sharing the stage with Aizat Amdan…and the crowd certainly went wild for his hit song “Rumah Singgah”…..


And I was truly blessed to be able to watch these two singers giving their best in the concert!!!

THE VIKIDS CARNIVAL OFFERS FUN-FILLED ACTIVITIES THIS SCHOOL BREAK

The VIKids Carnival is back at Alamanda Shopping Centre from 23 February to 10 March 2024!!!! 


Coinciding with the school holidays, this 17-day campaign will be an immersive carnival experience for VIKids members and their families.

Mesra Mall Kemaman hosted its own VIKids Carnival from 18 to 22 February 2024, offering a unique and enjoyable experience in collaboration with Hobby Exotic Petting Zoo.

Galaxy S24 series users have full controllability over how much they allow their data to enhance AI experiences, through Advanced Intelligence settings which can disable online processing of data for AI features.

The Next Phase of Samsung’s Environmental Journey
Establishing a new category of mobile experiences also means reimagining how Galaxy technology is designed and packaged to do more with less for people and the planet. Galaxy S24 series continues to scale the variety of recycled materials in Galaxy devices by applying recycled plastics, glass and aluminum to internal and external components. It also takes these efforts one step further. For the first time, Galaxy S24 features series components made with recycled cobalt and rare earth elements. In Galaxy S24 Ultra, a minimum of 50% recycled cobalt was used in the battery, and 100% recycled rare earth elements were incorporated into the speakers. 

Galaxy S24 series is also the first Galaxy S series to be designed with recycled steel and Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU). Galaxy S24 Ultra features a minimum of 40% recycled steel in the speakers, and it includes a minimum of 10% pre-consumer recycled TPU in the side and volume keys. Additionally, every Galaxy S24 series comes in a packaging box made from 100% recycled paper material. 

The latest flagship continues Samsung’s commitment to extending the product lifecycle, offering seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates to help users reliably experience the optimized performance of their Galaxy devices for even longer. Lastly, Galaxy S24 series is UL ECOLOGO® certified, and its carbon footprint has been measured and verified by The Carbon Trust. 

Galaxy S24 series is a demonstration of progress against Samsung MX’s environmental roadmap. Samsung remains steadfast in delivering on its set of goals to be achieved by the end of 2025. At the end of 2022, Samsung achieved the first of these goals by incorporating recycled materials in all mobile products, from Galaxy smartphones and tablets to PCs and wearables. Today, the company is setting a new recycled material goal. By 2030, Samsung will incorporate at least one recycled material in every module of every mobile product.

Radiant, rich and luxe are three words fans of Bath & Body Works use to describe its latest fragrance, Luminous, which has been officially launched in stores nationwide and online…


According to a Bath & Body Works survey, 77% of people love getting complimented on the scent they wear though 83% say they wear a fragrance for themselves rather than to impress others. The renowned fragrance retailer, who collaborates with world-class perfumers, partnered with master perfumer, David Apel, to bring the inspiration to life through the creation of the fragrance.

Luminous blends three luxe fragrance notes for a rich decadence, warmth and sweetness.
