MWM2019 marks its 7th year and was once again organized by Tourism Selangor as one of the major events of Selangor....
More than 7000 local and International runners swarmed this sporting event held in conjunction of celebrating International Women Day...
The event which was attended by Selangor Chief Minister, Y.A.B. Tuan Amirudin Bin Shari and his wife Puan Masdiana Muhamad whom partake in the 5KM category gave their full support towards MWM2019....
To commemorate this year’s MWM theme, the art piece “Ode to Women” also known as “Wanita” by Habsah Abang Saufi, one of Malaysia’s highly regarded artist has been chosen to signify the nation’s unity in supporting women empowerment....
The painting was recreated into the MWM2019 event t-shirt and the beautiful Bunga Raya/Hibiscus design medal was beautifully decorated with precious stones from Swarovski....
I was one of those who took part in the 5km run, and was given a teal colour tutu by Selangor Tourism Corporate Communications Manager, en Naz to wear for the run and in support of HPV, and it was tiring, since the night before I finished 5 km of Illumi Run too but a whole lot of fun..
The trail was an interesting one that made us run or walk around a good part of Petaling Jaya with the organizers, traffic police and MPPJ officials keeping watch and making sure we were all safe and so abiding to our side of the road...
As usual it was a great relief arriving back at the finishing line and getting handed our medals, a bottle of Moma drinking water, a banana, an apple, a packet of granola and a small bottle of shampoo...
