Penang is a wonderful place to find all sorts of weird and wonderful foods. One place that is on every visitors food must eat, besides the nasi kandar or char koay teow is definitely the famous chendol stall, that has been selling chendol and ice kachang since the mid to early 1900s. There is almost always a queue when you visit the stall because of it's popularity. The stall sells other desserts and drinks, such as ais kachang (shaved ice with red beans, grass jelly, peanuts, syrup and gula melaka) , and drinks such as syrup, chrysanthemum tea and air pegaga (refreshing green colour leaf of the pegaga blended into juice-personally, my favourite)

So here it is. The famous Penang Chendol. For those not familiar with this popular Asian dessert - It is basically a mixture of gula melaka, coconut milk, chendol (the pandan infused green 'noodles'), shaved ice and red beans. The workers at this cart make the chendol incredibly fast. They will serve you within 30 seconds upon ordering.
Try it if you are in Penang..There are two stalls there, opposite each other, many people would go for the Teochew one because of notoriety, but to me both are just as good as the other.
