Summer Palace Yiheyuan in Beijing

Getting to Yiheyuan or the Summer Palace was not as hard as I imagined. Before heading to Beijing I was fretting over how I was going to get to the Summer Palace since I was told it was on the outskirts of Beijing...but all that worry was just for naught. There was a direct subway there and it was just so convenient getting off the subway Line 4 onto Beigongmen station and walking a very short distant - about 5 minutes from the station...

Meet the Shopkins....

For the second time in a week, I was at Hamley's at  1 Utama yesterday indulging my youngest daughter her whims of getting yet another small set of Shopkins, the latest craze that hit the toy world and kids world....

I was here just a few days ago and gave her carte blanche to buy anything... yeah, anything at all within the budget of RM120 and she decided on two sets of Shopkins. She barely even glance at the Monster High dolls which had been her passion for the whole of the last two years!!!

Tianjin's Italian Town

 Tianjin Italian Town is an area consisting of a few blocks of completely restored 19th century Italian buildings.  The local government decided that these old buildings, which at the time were in use as tenements, were an untapped tourist attraction gold mine .  The government bought out the tenets and restored the buildings and streets etc. to their former glory.  The buildings now houses restaurants, bars and so on and are very popular among local and foreign visitors....

I have never been fortunate to be truly spoiled by my family members. My life since the day I was born had been filled with strife and I never had anyone who truly dote on me. 

My so called father did not like the fact that I was born a girl and when I was three, my parents got divorced and he never gave a s**t whether I was dead or alive after that. I never even got any birthday wish or even a birthday card, let alone a birthday gift from him my entire life....

Being a cultural street with over 600 years history, the Ancient Culture Street in Tianjin is a place to visit if you are there in Tianjin.... It is pretty well known by the local and overseas tourists.

A stay at the Hutong Inn Zaoyuanju Hotel in Beijing

Our second hotel/ inn in Beijing was the Hutong Inn Zaoyuanju Hotel off the Goulodajie street. It was not hard to get there...Use the subway line 2  and exit at Goulodajie station, go to exit G ( follow the signs for line 8 and the Chinese medicine center) when you exit the subway walk straight ahead, you will pass a Chinese medicine center/pharmacy, a very fancy car repair place (at least that is what I think it is), a grocery shop and a convenience shop and even a McDonald's take the 2nd left into the hutong, the inn is about 200 yards on the left.
