Kompleks Kraf Kuala Lumpur...or Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex

My husband and I enjoy coming here once a while with the kids for them to enjoy the nice environment and also take part in some of the activities in the artist colony village  where they can do batik painting and so on and also atch other artists at work. It can be interesting.

Kompleks Kraf Kuala Lumpur is a one-stop craft centre and tourists destination for both local and international, it is definitely a MUST-VISIT ATTRACTION. Showcasing the beauty and diversity of Malaysia's local crafts with its unique tradition and aesthetics, giving the visitors the lifetime opportunity to touch and experience this diversity demonstrated in the wealth of handicrafts available. Kompleks Kraf Kuala Lumpur is the aspiration for the nation's craft activities that encompass the marketing, education, acculturation and local cuisine, which is rich with Malaysia identity.

A large variety of different types of local crafts are available for sale in the Karyaneka shop, at very reasonable prices for the high quality offered. Orders and customisation are also available for the diverse craft products. There are many types of crafts and materials displayed, from simple gifts to a unique souvenirs, batik sarong, clothes and accessories, home decorations and furnishings.  

The Craft Museum: Become acquainted with the Malaysian region’s heritage of crafts throughout the ages. The mass collection of information and craft exhibition available in craft museum give public and younger generation a refinement of knowledge about craft production process and the conservation of craft heritage. This is especially important to inculcate interest and passion of the younger generation to appreciate the artistic beauty made so that it can be continuously evolved throughout the ages.  At that point of time I was visiting, they were having a wedding craft heritage exhibition.

    A fascinating fusion of past and present, these innovative  fabrics, furnishings, stylish  ceramics, metals and sustainable forest products, are available for the picking. Across the country, each state exhibits its own skilled workforces, who together create truly exceptional, masterful pieces. Visitors will be spoilt for choice to choose, purchase or even for special ordering products at very affordable prices. Shoppers area also allowed to choose any type of packaging and decoration desired. Delivery service is also available in Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley area. The Artists' Colony
Be a Guest at Perkampungan Pelukis or the Artists' Colony and mingle with the local artisans who proudly express their talent and creativity in their artwork and paintings that display a uniquely Malaysian image. Art lovers can interact with the resident artists and witness them bringing out ideas using many different materials and techniques. Visitors may purchase painting that catch their eyes or even request for a work of art that fulfil their desires.

Information about Kraftangan Malaysia and its activities can easily obtained at the Information Counter. Added incentives are given to drivers who transport tourists to Kompleks Kraf. Taxi and shuttle services are also available upon request at this Information Counter for your own comfort and convenience.
