Let us be more sensitive, understanding and caring...

I woke up today to the news one of my favorite rock band, Linkin Park, has lost its main singer.. he hung himself, after having given up hope and all with his fight on drugs, alcohol and also stress...

It was of course a rude shock as even though his music was angst driven, it was something many of us felt and could relate to as well...

The sad thing is, we do live in a cruel and cold world.. where too many people cannot wait to tear you down, make use of you, criticize whatever you do, find fault with you and when you try to seek help claiming you are  depressed or stressed out, many people just poo-pooed it away, snide you or simply do not believe it.. and it does get very lonely, it is lonely even if you have friends around or family members around as they simply do not understand..

Face it, we all have friends and family members, but how many of them will sincerely take the time to listen to you, and understand what is going in in your mind...

Chances are, they will just brush it off and ignore you...unless you are very blessed with people who are really concerned over your every happiness... Most people in general are selfish and tend to just think of their own self... and it is all about them or nothing at all.. family or friends or people around you..

I have been there once or twice in my younger days.. and can so totally relate to Chester's nightmarish childhood as mine was pretty much similar in some ways.. and I used to self hurt myself by biting myself, banging my head on the wall, cutting myself, scratching myself and close to also taking my own life via strangling myself and downing pills... I also used to believe finding someone special could be the solution... which unfortunately is a yes and a no...

I finally learned happiness is something we create for ourselves... My husband taught me, we have to learn to be strong and do the things we want to make ourselves happy... Stop relying on someone else, whether it is your spouse, your family, your boyfriend/girlfriend to make you happy as it will rarely happen.. chances are the other person will drive you further up the wall or to bonkers...

Ironically in my younger days, Linkin Park or rather Chester Bennington's songs are the songs that help me get over much of my stress and depression.. after all, there is nothing quite like yelling along to an angst filled song, played loudly, that just sounds like how you feel right...

People's perception is just because you look ok, you are rich, you have a good life, you live in luxury, you should not be stressed or depressed.. and that is my two cents take on why many famous celebrities end up turning to drugs or alcohol to numb themselves/ dull their feelings and eventually  committing suicide or causing their own death...

It is a sad thing but well, the world is just like that....
So in this little eulogy as well as just sharing what is in my mind.. for Chester Bennington, I include some song titles ‘story’ I created....Hope it make some sense... Huhuh

'Sorry for now', 'One more light'(Chester Bennington) has made his 'Final Masquerade' in the 'Shadow of the Day'..
'Part of Me' can't help feeling so 'Numb' 'From the Inside' and 'Nobody's Listening'..

'What We Don't Know' is 'In the End', we are also 'One Step Closer' to 'Bleeding it Out' until we 'Hit the Floor' 'When They Come For Me' and when there are 'No Roads Left' even for 'Crawling', but for now even if it's 'Heavy', and we suffer 'Papercuts' let us 'Leave out all the Rest' while 'Breaking the habit', and live a life of 'Wisdom, Justice and Love' while we can....

Rest in peace now, dear Chester, you are finally at peace...and thank you for the music that have somehow saved me from my darkest moments too...

My condolences Linkin Park and all fellow Linkin Park fans for their loss....and I pray more people learn to be more sensitive, humane and caring of one another... Instead of just finding a way to tear the person down..

  1. It's indeed a sad day for many. Thought I'm not a big fan of Linkin Park,I still know and heard their songs and it isn't bad. I also agreed that many have to be more sensitive and caring. RIP Chester.
