Isetan Kuala Lumpur's 25 loving years

ISETAN has been one of my favourite departmental store ever since I stepped foot in Kuala Lumpur.. I use to head over to ISETAN Lot 10 whenever I was free to have a meal at the food court or browse around or buy my Japanese snacks..

And as you know it, time flies when you are having fun. ISETAN Kuala Lumpur is now celebrating its 25th anniversary and has now grown to four stores from just one. However, ISETAN Lot 10 is currently getting a makeover, a facelift and an upgrade and rumour has it it is going to be huge, and it is going to be uniquely different from other stores.... How??? Stay tune to find out... It is slotted to be reopen in the second quarter of next year!!!!

Yours truly was at the press conference to check out what they had in store. The anniversary celebration really started with a bang.... which got everyone in the quiet event hall wincing a little , including the Managing Director  of ISETAN Kuala Lumpur, Mr Nobuharu Yutani.

Ah well, the bang was from the drums....the Wadaiko Syo Traditional Japanese Drum Performance which held everyone in the event hall mesmerized.

It was a fluidity and grace of the drummers and of course, the timing.... and Mr Yutani joked about his ears still ringing when it was over.....

Anyway, ISETAN Kuala Lumpur will be celebrating its 25th anniversary with a host of festivities and initiatives for customers as we as to give back to the community....

The initiatives will include Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaigns in partnership with HOPE worldwide Malaysia, to support the underprivileged kids here in Malaysia .

Mr Yutani says that ISETA Kuala Lumpur received a lot of support and encouragement from their customers over the years. Customer satisfaction is ISETAN's greatest achievement, and because of that, ISETAN is celebrating their 25th anniversary by giving back to the Malaysian community.

As part of the ongoing celebrations, 12 months of in-store promotions and activities has been taking place from January 2015 and will be going on until December 2015. Three upcoming major sales events planned included the Pre-sale (2nd October), Birthday Sale (10th October) and Customer Appreciation Night (11th December) with exclusive discounts and promotional vouchers for members.

Members of the media were invited to witness the cake cutting ceremony with the management team and staff and indulged in refreshments by the ISETAN KLCC exclusive Gino cafe.

There will be designer collaborations for all you fashionistas to check out and indulge in, because theu feature collaborations between Anna Sui, Gillian Hung X Cultivation....

....and Naraya will be featuring limited edition merchandise, premium gifts, ladies wear and homewear... Personally I find this so pretty and feminine as most of the totes and bags have bows on it...

And of course, be sure to check out the Daruma by ISETAN campaign as well.

Daruma is a Japanese traditional wishing doll, and drawing inspiration from this, Daruma by ISETAN features a collection of five specially designed coin canisters. These canisters symbolizes perseverance, as well as encourage goal-settings and the achievement of personal aspirations.

Just choose and purchase one of these Darumas for RM15 at the i-Club ISETAN KLCC, The Gardens or 1 Utama. You can then fill in one of the eyes of the Daruma signifying your pledge and also you making a wish... Once you have filled up the Daruma with whatever you want to donate, return the canister to the Customer Service for contribution to the fund collection box. You will get a certificate of appreciation as well fill in the other eye of the Daruma.

The Daruma coin box is of course, yours to keep....
