Sunway Putra Hotel CNY celebrations

Despite being exhausted upon just arriving a few hours ago from Puteri Harbour, yours truly was out at about at the Sunway Putra Hotel a few days ago with my mini me. I thought it was only fitting to bring her out for a little treat and it really was a treat.....

Sunway Putra Hotel ushered in the Year of the Red Fire Monkey in style , kicking off the festivities with plenty of surprises for us....

My daughter and I were certainly amused by the sleepy pair of lions that were waiting at the Atrium. Seemingly tired of waiting, they were restlessly rolling around and frolicking at the same time while waiting for the event to start....

It is always fascinating watching Chinese Calligraphy done right before your eyes....

...and hey, even the lions were sure fascinated.....

...as we watched with bated breath to see what famous Chinese Calligraphy artist Adam Ng  wrote on the scrolls that would symbolize hope for the new year.....

The scrolls were then given to Augustine M Silva, Senior General Manager, Sunway Putra Hotel to hang at the entrance area of the lobby...

And it sure was a surprise when the pair of slumbering lions came to 'life' with the drums and suddenly there was another 6 lions that appeared from several venues making a total of 8 lions!!! With there being so many lions, my camera got 'lost' too trying to capture all of them... lol...

But well, here are the eight lions and the senior management of Sunway Putra Hotel as well as the chefs who had been busy to put together the Chinese New Year reunion dinner menu...

The hotel celebrated the dawn of Chinese New Year with 25 underprivileged children from The Shepherd's Centre Foundation Malaysia as part of its "Time to Give", corporate social responsibility program.

The children were given angpows by the senior management team...and then later treated to a sumptuous dinner at the Coffee House along with other invited guests and partners....

My mini me getting attention from the lions.....

Then we all got together for a huge, and I mean HUGE "Yee Sang" tossing with the senior management of Sunway Putra Hotel, Corporate Clinets, Media, Partners and Affiliates....

This was done on a huge circular table in the centre of the Atrium with a lovely ice sculpture as the centre piece...

It was certainly a grand tossing as everyone gathered round and tossed the "Yee Sang" / Lo Hei which had been painstakingly arranged by the chefs there.....

Chinese New Year celebration at the Sunway Putra Hotel definitely is opulent as the hotel's culinary team headed by Chef Cheong Chee Seng, Head Chinese Chef, pull out all stops to ensure the guests are treated to an international feast of the senses....

Oppsie... yours truly has a sweet tooth and can never resist dessert.... so it was the first thing that caught my eye....

The Appetisers and Salad counter features plenty of surprises such as Minced Chicken with Thai dressing Salad, Chicken Barbecue  in Platter ....

... Seafood on Ice and Oysters, Green Mussels with Lemon Wedges and Tabasco Sauce....

Yee Sang on Ice with Fresh Salmon with tossed condiments....

Hot Spot Station with Shrimp meat, Squid, Fish Slice, Green Mussel, Red Pepper, Green Pepper, Onions, Spring Onions, Carrots, Cabbage, Button Mushrooms, Beansprouts, Celery, Leek, Chopped Garlic and Mongolian Sauce...

Reunion dinners are eaten with your family and loved ones , and Sunway Putra Hotel believes and endeavour that your Chinese New Year specials are as authentic as possible , just like how you would prepare it at home.....

Lamb Masala

Indian Chicken Curry

Grilled Lamb with Mint Pommery Mustard Sauce...

Pan Seared Chicken with Mushroom Ragout Sauce...

Steamed Fish with Soya Sauce

Wok Fried Prawn with Spicy Special Sauce...

Teo Chew Braised Duck with Egg..

Beef Pepper Beef....

Sea Cucumber & Mushroom Stew on Brassica

Stir Fried Hong Kong Kai Lan with Salted Fish

Assorted Maki Sushi and Sushi...

....errrrmmm...... wasabi , anyone? Definitely not for me... I am terrified of wasabi!!!

A must try on the list would be this rich Asian Seafood  Buttered Spaghetti.....

...as well as the mouth watering Pipa Chicken and Peking Duck Pizza.....

Chocolate Fountain....

Green Tea Red Bean Chocolate Cake....

Indulge in a sweet conclusion to your lovely dinner with interesting delicacies such as Coconut Lemon Velvet Cake, Sugi Almond Cake, Lotus Pancakes, Banana Caramelised Tarts and loads more yummy desserts Sunway Putra Hotel has in store for those dining there........
