Journey of Taste at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

It was an amazing feast for the senses... sight, scent and taste when I stepped off the escalator onto the 7th floor of the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, designated as a Dining Loft. The area had been turned into a little food court with pretty tables in gingham table cloth and food stalls ...

Well, so you see, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s premier shopping destination had invited me and a few others for a media preview of Journey of Taste today at the Dining Loft and we certainly got spoiled....

Beginning from the 1st to the 30th of September, Journey of Taste is offering shoppers a journey of food trails, promotions and events, right in the heart of the golden triangle..

There will be over 150 F&B tenants including a dedicated gourmet hall, spacious restaurants with private rooms to explore with all your senses...

Journey of Taste will be highlighting the best of both international and also local cuisines and is inviting all shoppers to bring out their inner ‘foodie’ and embark on scrumptious food trails all over the mall.

Have a preference for Japanese food like sushi or the California Roll above? Lets explore Japanese dining from the wide selections of Japanese restaurants available at the mall.

Hosting a ladies night out? Pavilion Kuala Lumpur has the most number of restaurants in the city that offer private dining rooms.

Pavilion KL has lined up a series of promotions, cooking workshops and food demonstrations for everyone, even the kiddies....

In conjunction with truffles season in September, Azzurro CafĂ© has dedicated a Taste of Tuscany menu which incorporates truffles all the way from the city of Arezzo, east of Tuscany, into a variety of dishes.

In addition, there will be the first-ever block party held in a mall, where shoppers are encouraged to go restaurant-hopping along Connection, to try out the beer-pairing menus offered in collaboration with the Carlsberg group of beers.

You have never had chicken this good....anywhere else... I swear it... Kyochon chicken is to die for or cry for...

We were given the chance to indulge in local and international cuisine, featuring Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s own tenants such as Serai, La Bodega, The Counter, Al Halabi, KyoChon, Ichiban Boshi, Chatime, La Juiceria, Starbucks, Twelve Cupcakes, and J CO Donuts.

Remy Martin and Somersby drinks were also available to quench the thirst of the non Muslim guests as we got to munch our own sweet way through the 'tour'.

It was truly a real foodie’s dream come true as we enjoyed the vast variety of delectable food and beverages from Starbucks, La Juiceria and Chatime to our heart’s content.

Absolutely delicious seafood Paella from La Bodega....

Chapatti, wraps, pizzas and hummus from Al Halabi

With the September school holidays coming, the kiddies are also encouraged to join  the journey of food discoveries.

Cooking workshops, held in partnership with restaurants like Fish & Co. and Ippudo are available for sign-ups and aimed to inspire junior masterchefs wannabes out there.

At the media preview that was designed to resemble a bustling food hall, Ms. Kung Suan Ai, Director of Marketing, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Eric Wong, Head of Customer Franchise, Citibank Berhad and Mr. Tony Thong, Senior Manager, Business & Financial Management of Visa Malaysia; officiated the event by placing the first stamp on a giant food passport, as a preview to the start of the food journey.

Speaking at the launch, Ms. Kung Suan Ai said, “As the defining authority in dining, Journey of Taste gives us the perfect opportunity to highlight the unique food experiences the mall offers. "

"Besides the vast selection of food, we also have the services and facilities to suit any occasion or celebration. Being a true dining hub means that shoppers can embark on a full sensory journey with us and taste their way around the world.

We are thrilled to be able to host this event and cannot wait for shoppers to start their journey with us. We’d also like to thank our official bank partner, Citibank, whose support helped to make this event possible.”

Throughout this period, visitors can visit Journey of Taste and enjoy exclusive promotions and special menus at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

As Citi is the official bank partner in collaboration with Visa, Citi cardholders will enjoy a 20% discount on selected menus and food items, while complimentary food vouchers can be redeemed by collecting stamps with every RM50 spent on the Citi credit card, or RM80 for non-Citi cardholders.
