Spirit of WIPRO Run 2016

Over the last weekend, I was over at the Perdana Botanical Gardens to check out the Spirit of WIPRO Run.

What made this annual charity event different from others would be that this event was held concurrently around the world where thousands of WIPRO employees, their families, friends, customers, partners and suppliers get together for a run on the same day in various different locations where WIPRO has its offices for a good cause...

It is the 6th year that the run is held in Malaysia and the 11th year it is held with 83,000 registrations across 114 cities taking part in the run...

In Malaysia itself, there were more then 4,300 participants and the little garden area at the Perdana Botanical Gardens was transformed into a colourful carnival like atmosphere...

The warm up session was facilitated by a pregnant Nike Ambassador who got us giggling when she said that her baby was getting all dizzy as she attempted to show those present how to do some slightly medium impact warm up and low impact warm ups....

Like other competitive runs, the Spirit of WIPRO Run had the Men Open- 8km category and Women Open - 8km category where all participants got their finisher medal

There was also a Family Fun Run for families to take part in together at just 3km....

There was a bit of confusion as both categories ran in opposite directions but it was sorted out quickly

There was definitely a lot of fun tele-matches, bouncy castles for the kids, clowns, game booths and I think the fishing pond was a hit as everyone wanted to try to catch some fishes they could bring home in a little plastic jar with the cover already poked with holes...

I am sure all of those present had a terrific time as they were treated to a scrumptious buffet lunch, kids got cotton candy and popcorn while adults got lucozade drinks, Oishi green tea drinks and munchies biscuits ... every one had a fun time and I sure had a great time with my blogger friends who were there as well.....

Thanks to WIPRO Unza for having me over.....
