3 steps to a healthy heart

Our lifestyle plays an important role in our risk of heart disease but sadly, many people do not quite take it to heart, thinking that heart disease only happens to those who are elderly.…

Do you know that if you but just maintain these three healthy lifestyle habits, you would be preventing nearly 90 percent of heart disease…

So what are the three healthy lifestyle habits?

1.   A healthy diet which include wholegrain cereals, legumes, fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts in your diet and lower your risk of heart disease. Cut down on sugar, salt and processed food…. Eat more oily fish like tuna, sardines or salmon that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and will boost your good cholesterol. Switch from milk chocolate to dark chocolate which is good for your heart... 


And last but not least, add the Nestle Omega Plus into your diet... You can actually manage your cholestrol level with just two glasses of the Nestle Omega Plus a day! Or get the ready to drink ones in those small tetrapaks and just slip it into you handbag or backpack...(my favorite!!)

How amazing is that….. you do not really have to do high impact exercise unless you want to… and when you exercise, and watch what you eat, you will also lose weight and maintain a healthy waist circumference (waist circumference <95 37.4="" cm="" inches="" o:p="" or="">

3.   Quit smoking now. You might not know if, but twelve months after quitting, your increased risk of dying from heart disease will be half that of a continuing smoker. And another amazing point would be can you imagine if you just stop smoking, you would have saved a staggering RM4350 for a year without cigarettes (I am just estimating using RM12 per box / per day – a box of ciggies cost more than RM15 nowadays!!!)

  1. Ticking off 1 and 3 since I eat any fruits and vegetables plus I do not smoke. Now, I just need to make an effort for #2 - Be physically active. Thank you for this reminder. It will surely help a lot people out there. Keep posting! :)

  6. A healthy lifestyle is the best way to go to prolong longevity. I do agree that you wouldn't have to go at it excessively but just by implementing little by little will do good in the long run :)
