LOT 10 CELEBRATES EARTH HOUR

Lot 10 is a place that brings back plenty of memories for me.. it was definitely one of my favorite places to visit and hang out about 15 years ago... with a couple of my besties back then, and loved the food court then and it is still a place I enjoy visiting despite being much more up market now... lol...well, that is because of Isetan's make over into the super upscale Isetan the Japan Store...

Anyway, since Earth Hour is happening tomorrow, Lot 10 will naturally be joining  billions around the world to 'Switch Off for Earth Hour' , the global 'lights off' event created by the World Wildlife Fund...

Since launched back in 2007 in Sydney, Australia, Earth Hour has become a global event celebrated annually to call on each individual, committee, corporate or government to inspire others to help protect the Earth and promote environmental conservation....

Yours truly was then over at Lot 10 for their sustainability campaign 'Together We Can Make A Better World' in support of this year's Earth Hour 2017, in collaboration with Raffles College of Higher Education and Kloth Cares by Kloth Lifestyle.

The launch was attended by Joseph Yeoh, Vice President of YTL Land and Development and YTL Hotels and Properties; Mr Wan Azmawi bin Dato' Wan Azmi, Chief Executive Officer of Raffles College of Higher Education; Mr Woon Foo Wen, Chief Executive Officer of Green Tech Malaysia Alliances Sdn Bhd representing Kloth Cares by Kloth Lifestyle....

Lot 10 will of course be switching off non-essential lights including its facade's decorative lights. The tenants will also be participating by turning off their lights in their respective stores from 8.30pm to 9.30pm on tomorrow/ Saturday 25th March 2017

Lot 10 is also holding a Green Furniture Design Exhibition by Raffles College of Higher Education which will be held at the Concourse area of Lot 10 until 29th March 2017.

Students from the Interior Design Faculty have proposed mall furniture based on the theme of Green and Sustainability, using recycled /recyclable materials.

Members of the public and visitors are all encouraged to view these creative interpretations and vote for their favorite piece by submitting vote entry at Lot 10 Cheerleaders Counter by 2nd April 2017. You can also vote online on Lot 10 Kuala Lumpur Facebook page www.facebook.com/Lot10KL

The top 3 creations with the highest votes will be fabricated and placed within the mall....

The mall has set up Recycle Bins on Level G, Level 2 and Level 5 where the public can drop off their pre-owned clothing, handbags, belts, linen and soft toys.

This initiative by Kloth Cares helps the environment by creating less waste for landfills and less pollution through reduction in manufacturing new clothes. All proceeds from the sale of this Recycle Bins campaign will be channeled to National Cancer Council MAKNA, Malaysian Association for the Blind MAB and Recycle Community Lestari RCOMM Lestari

While you are there at Lot 10 and if in search for a place to charge your gadgets, be sure to check out some cool bicycle-powered charger where you can actually generate electricity through pedal power and charge your gadgets while exercising....

How amazing is that... two birds with one stone.. you get fitter and healthier from the exercise and your gadget gets charged....

Lot 10 is also offering shoppers a chance to redeem the Super Lottie Tote Bag at the Cheerleaders Counter, Level G when they have spend RM200 in not more than 2 combined receipts in a day...You really need to get this bag as it is just adorable.... and you can fold it and keep it in your bag as well...only 2 redemptions are allowed per customer per day and while stocks last.....

  5. Happy earth hour. This year, my kids are old enough to join in on earth hour. We will try to read some stories with flash lights.

    It's great that more and more people and organizations are participating in this event. Every individual counts.
