So....what is this Brown Bag Series? This Brown Bag Series is actually a series of energizing feel-good workshops that matter which has been lovingly organized by 1 Utama each month together with Cold Storage.

So as you can see, yours truly was there with blogger pals Aliza Sara and also Chin Yee to check it out...at the area just outside Cold Storage at 1Utama's new wing a couple of days ago....

These workshops are introduced free for shoppers to participate at no cost, with the objective of providing them fun activities to learn from so that they can walk away with health and wellness tips.

Why use a brown bag?? Well, everyone knows a brown bag is trendy, eco-friendly and easy to carry. And 1Utama is trying to advocate using brown paper bags in replace of harmful non-degradable plastic bags.

For 1Utama's very first Brown Bag Series workshop event, 1Utama invited award-winning Chef Federico Michieletto who is the Head of Culinary for Marini’s on 57.

He has also been recognized amongst others by the notable Bocuse D’or Asia, for Best Italian Chef of the Year 2012, Winner of the Gourmand award for Best Italian Book 2008 and is also the ex-president of the Chef Association of Malaysia.

It was certainly a lot of fun as we got to learn and sampled how to cook healthy dishes freshly prepared live by Chef Federico at the event using Monte Verde products.

On the menu were Bruschetta Toast, Monte Verde Pasta, Carbonara Pasta and other Italian cuisine

Celebrity guest, supermodel and actress Amber Chia joined Chef Federico on stage for the cookout too!

Don't you think it looks good? It does not only looks good but taste just as amazing as it looks... and I love smoked duck... for non -Muslims, you can actually add bacon instead of smoked duck....

As usual, you have to hand it to the professionals to make it all look so effortless. These chefs can simply whip up a delicious pasta within 5-10 minutes...

And they can do this "flip thing" without breaking a sweat... Amber tried it and failed and adviced all NOT to do it unless we are professionals... heheheh

This pasta is just simply delicious.. with the tomato base... and is both fragrant and very healthy with all the garlic, oregano, cherry tomatoes, and olives.....

One of the attendees getting a chance to go on stage with the stars and a chance to try her hand on making the pasta too...

This Penne Arrabiata is just yummy....

And Chef Federico brought out Panna Cotta treats for all of us!!!  We did not get to learn this but it is just as yummy!!!

I got a chance to take a picture with Chef Federico.....

the event is opened to ONECARD members only, but because we want all our shoppers to benefit from the workshops, we will give out free membership on the spot at the event for those who pre-registered

  10. I always find organic stuff to be expensive especially when my gross income is only 2k monthly. Hard to survive these days la :(
But one thing for sure is i would never stinge on food quality, it doesn't have to be organic as long as it's fresh!
