Fairy Tale fun run for Valentine's Day

Yours truly and her mini me was up early at 5am to get ready for our fun run.  It was my mini me's first fun run and I asked her if she was really up to it as it was a 4 km run or walk at least...and surprising she said yes... Since I felt silly attending a Valentine's Day themed fun run all by myself, I brought her along.

We were there early to get out car park, knowing the crowd the fun run was expecting as well as well, Kepong Metropolitan Park is notorious for double, triple parking even outside the park....especially on a weekend!!!!
Anyway, I was there early to pick up my kit and stuff from fellow blogger Betty Liew who was there too.. she met me at the media registration booth after we realized that we parked in totally different places and handed over my t shirt, and stuff.... Thanks dear Betty for doing me this favour....

The crowd of people at 7 am

For your info, in case you are not from KL, or are living in KL and still hidden somewhere under a rock or something... SCORE Cupid Run 2016 is a 4km fun run for everyone ....

At the starting line...

SCORE Cupid Run targets trying to encourage more people to start running or well, walking... LOL.. whether you are a professional runner, a running enthusiast, or fun run fans... By infusing endearing well known fairytale themes, the run was a thrilling and fun recreational platform for both the young and old to get a great cardiovascular exercise...

Ready set goooooo

It was definitely fun seeing people all clad in pink and tiffany blue getting ready to walk, run and exercise their hearts out... and there were many of them who came with even bridal head gears.., princess tiaras etc...

Run, Forrest, runnnn....

Over 2000 runners encompassing of friends, family, running buddies, partners, loved ones and individuals joined in this fun run....

Runners of all ages and backgrounds got to enjoy amazing views of the Kepong Metropolitan Park, especially so early in the morning, and many stop to take a breather as well as to take selfies and pictures of the amazing view.

The first stop was at the Cinder where participants who wanted to participate were made to sort out green beans from the other lentils in 30 seconds by the evil stepsisters........

It sure was a very challenging task.. but fun......

Selfie fans and photographers had a fun time taking selfies and pictures with the step mother and step sisters, including muaaa... but hey... my mini me piped up..." why does the step mother look younger then the step sisters...."   LOL

Don't forget to make a wish at the wishing well too... LOL....this is the Humble beginnings of the run....

The Kepong Metropolitan Park is a beautiful picturesque park with a large lake and running track, shaded by trees and the view you acquire, especially during sunrise or sunset is just breathtaking....

My daughter being my model for this picture......thus, with such a breathtaking view, the run seemed even more enchanting and mystical....

The next stop was at the Magical Gifts where participants were challenged to unlock a lock within 30 seconds.... Those who managed to do so got to walk away transformed into a princess with a flower crown or a tutu..... My daughter tried her hand on it but failed....

My favourite saying.... "Where there is kindness, there is goodness, and where there is goodness, there is magic....."

This is what the tutu looks like.....this is a borrowed one.. LOL

Yours truly trying to figure out how to change these pumpkins into something better... a carriage?? a house... but wait.. my Fairy Godmother is running away....

Those who are lucky do actually get stardust sprinkled on them... LOL

My daughter gets to meet the Fairy Godmother though....

We then passed over the lovers bridge where there was hearts and rose petals all at the sides of the bridge......

Romantic, right.... I have never got to walk along a rose petal strewn path before since unfortunately I do not have a romantic husband... so this seems like a big deal to me...

And oh.... how sweet... participants all get to get a rose as well....

The third stop is beginning our fairytale journey on the enchanted carriage...The Pumpkin Ride... Oh my... the pumpkins turned into a lovely horse carriage....

My daughter and me having some silly fun on the carriage....

Being an animal lover, my daughter cannot resist a picture with the lovely pony...

If you prefer something more traditional... there is a pair of bicycles... or how about a trishaw your boyfriend, fiance or husband cycles and carry you around...

Then we finally reached the end...and waiting for us was The Ball where those who brought their partners could dance the Zumba etc with their Prince Charming....

My daughter managed to complete her 4 km run...yaaayyy.... and yes, it is my medal but I give it to her since she successfully did it, despite the whinings and complaints she made along the way....

We got to whet our hunger and thirst with lovely bread burgers from Marina as well as drinks from Revive and Bleu....

And oh, she met Cinderella.....

Here is a picture of the medal..... isn't it pretty.... if you came with your male partner, you would have gotten a bigger one to interlock it with.....

Anyway the sponsors for the SCORE Cupid Run 2016 are Brooks, Marina, Revive, Massimo, Yogood, Watsons, Bella Skin, Otterbox, URC,,,

There was even some air brush tattoo fun and I chose a prancing horse... and my daughter chose a pirate Hello Kitty....

Ain't it just adorable.......

There were definitely a lot of fun, dancing the Zumba with these people and even the mascots from Otterbox, and  amazing great deals from Brooks which I was so disappointed I missed out on as I did not bring too much cash...or card... lovely sports shoes that sold RM340 per pair going for RM380 for two etc...

Thank you to the organizers and hope to be able to join in again next activity or the next run next year....
