Pakistan Expo "PEXPO KL" in Mid Valley Exhibition Center

So yours truly was at the Mid Valley Exhibition Center yesterday to check out the inauguration day of the Made in Pakistan exhibition. The mood there was sure very festive and there were many dignitaries and ambassadors around to give support to this made in Pakistan expo better known as "PEXPO"

And why not because this is the first ever exhibition on such a large scale organized in Malaysia showcasing a wide range of exhibits by 63 Pakistani companies, most of them who are here in Malaysia for the first time to study the market and source out Malaysian consumers taste and preferences. These companies are not to be underestimated though as many of them have since established a business relationship in Europe and North America, and they are not interested to explore potentials in South East Asia.

There were speeches, as expected from Puan Sri Dr Susan Cheah, Deputy President National Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Malaysia (NAWEM); Dato' Dr Sharif-ud-din Musa, President of KL Malay Chamber of Commerce (KLMCC); Jehangeer Bajwa, Chairman of Surgical Association; Farida Qureshi, President Women Chamber of Commerce Industry Karachi and her team...(pic above)

....as well as His Excellency Syed Hassan Raza, High Commissioner of Pakistan in Malaysia and Mir Nasir Abbas, Chairman EVECON /SARG

His Excellency Syed Hassan Raza, High Commissioner of Pakistan in Malaysia, assured everyone that Pakistan is now a peaceful country and Malaysian Entrepreneurs should also take the opportunity to do business in Pakistan ..

The exhibition was inaugurated by Dato' Dzulkifli Mahmud, CEO-MATRADE. And even on it's first day, there was already a large number of visitors ....

Two MOUs were signed. One between Kuala Lumpur  Malay Chamber of Commerce (KLMCC) and the organizing company South Asian Resources Group (SARG) / EVECON

.. and the other between KLMCC and the Surgical Industry. EVECON is positive that they can make many business deals during this exhibition because of the interest which has been generated among the local business community...

Dato' Dzulkifli Mahmud, CEO-MATRADE mentioned going into Pakistan on a trade visit as well and also urged the Pakistani exhibitors to join in the next annual Malaysian International Halal Showcase (MIHAS).

Official ribbon cutting ceremony
A photo opportunity....

Once the ribbon cutting , the VIPs were taken on a tour of the exhibition ...beginning with these gorgeous buttery soft leather which have been painstakingly coloured...I can so imagine wearing a nice coloured leather jacket like this... or boots.. or pants... *Note to self: stop getting carried away, Miera!!!*

There are also these very gorgeous metallic yarn for those who like to sew with shiny threads.. this is would be a dream come true...

Pakistani is well known as one of the top manufacturers and exporters of surgical instruments... and the VIPs stop by to check some of it out....

Ladies will definitely fall in love with these gorgeous traditional wear.. most of these are made from pure silk, chiffon and painstakingly embroidered to make them these amazing...

For those who prefer simpler designs, these are vibrant cotton traditional Pakistani clothing...

The jewelry that are being exhibited are also so amazing and beautiful with precious and semi-precious stones.... (check out the first picture right at the top too!!!)

Several of my friends and I were checking out and admiring this gorgeous suit... it is gold in colour and super elegant... but it is also quite heavy from all the embroidery...and really, almost, to die for...

These acrylic type crafts are oh so pretty as well.....

Wooden furniture anyone?? The wooden furniture are all intricately carved and polished... I wish I had my own home and a lot of money in the bank... I would so get half a dozen of these beautiful furniture....

Beautiful bangles....

Some gorgeous top of the line carpets with those amazing detailed designs......

For foodies like me, and those who love trying out foreign delicacies, dishes, you really should check these out...

There is so much to see and something for everyone....

How about these gorgeous cabinets.. beautifully carved and then painted.....I am so in love.....

And these copper pots and vases are also swoon worthy....

I for one am also in love with the big variety of marble/onyx products on display there.... so there you have it.. I have shared some of what you can expect to see at the PEXPO. And do not forget, you can stand a chance to win a free trip to Bangkok, a free Apple iPad or a Samsung phone... just visit the PEXPO now and find out how....

  8. Good that they are entering into a more business and serious relationship. For such a long time relationship between our countries have had a negative light. More transparency the better.

  13. The bank at that point stores an electronic duplicate of the check, called a substitute check, in the database while the real check is stamped electronically, showing that it has been gotten the money for. Check Cashing
