Ti Lung and Jessica Hester Hsuan in Malaysia for "The Kid From the Big Apple" promo tour

It was an impromptu decision, but my mother asked me to send her to IJN , the National Heart Institute for her to visit her friend who was undergoing bypass, so I decided to just attend the Press Conference for the next Malaysian award winning movie, none other then "The Kid from the Big Apple" . It was held at the Double Tree Hilton at the Intermark, so it was convenient...

After all, when else would I be able to get an opportunity to meet Golden Horse Award Best Actor Tommy Tam, or more known as Ti Lung, and the popular Hong Kong actress Jessica Hester Hsuan who both flew in from Hong Kong to promote the locally produced movie...

It was definitely a fun press conference when Malaysian born singer, Bell performed the movie theme song (which is haunting my head since I heard it... yeah, it is one of those catchy songs that can really haunt you, LOL, and I have played the song like a hundred times now....) along with the young casts....The performance got a big applause by all those present...

While waiting for the special guests aka adult main cast, we had some light moments with the young main cast, Sarah Tan or Tan Qin Lin and Tan Jason who both played the character "Sarah" and also "Ah Bao, the neighbour's son"...

The hall buzzed with excitement when both Ti Lung and Jessica Hester Hsuan then entered the room....

They were here for a string of promotional events for this movie I am personally telling you to go watch.... REVIEW HERE

" I am very glad to know some of you have watched the movie at the sneak previews, I am also filled with anticipation to watch the final product at the Gala Premiere," veteran actor Ti Lung was quoted to have said...

Jessica Hester Hsuan also expressed her anticipation towards the movie and was thrilled to be able to meet her Malaysian fans once again through this movie...

This is a movie that will make you giggle and  laugh.... make you sad enough to cry and make you laugh until tears come out....And I dare say many people, if not all can relate to it in one way or another...

Director Jess Teong was beaming as she proudly talked about her movie...

Lenna Lim, who played the neighbourhood big sister "Ivy" was a picture of demureness ...

Taiwanese celebrity Vivian Hsu, who is the executive producer of "The Kid from the Big Apple" also promoted the movie through her Facebook page which gained an overwhelming response in just a short period of time...

"The Kid from the Big Apple" has already received international recognition in various film festivals. It is also the first Malaysian movie to collaborate with international fast food chain, McDonald's. In conjunction  with this collaboration,, the movie has kicked off sneak shows for 3 weekends prior to the general release, and has since gone viral and gained rave reviews...

And.. yes, I am going to watch it again with my family.....

This 2-hour film produced by Three Production  is set to be released on 10th March. So be sure to book your tickets or mark your calendars...

  1. Meaningful story line ...I wish more young families watch this so they aware how difficult for their parents raise them up and they have to look after their children during old age.
Plan well and be responsible. Do not take it as granted for your parents to help you. It's time for them to enjoy their own life.
