Chinese Drama: Sound of the Desert (Sypnosis and Spoilers)

Jin Yu was a wolf girl who was then caught, adopted as a little kid, and raised within the Xiong Nu. Her father was a Han who taught the Crown Prince of the Xiong Nu back then. She was very good friends with the Crown Prince and his uncle but when the Emperor of Xiong Nu died and her life threatened, and she was forced to flee to Chang'an, the then capital of Early Han Dynasty, changing her name to Xin Yue along the way.

Along her journey, in the desert with her brother wolf who helped her, she tried to steal some things from a caravan passing by and was caught. She then meets first the handicapped but calm and kind influential businessman Mo Xun, who told his men to release her and gave her a lovely dress as well as some salt that she asked for.

Then she encountered and saved a spice merchant from being robbed/attacked, not knowing the spice merchant was actually a handsome, cold, general Wei Wuji who also happens to be the Empress's nephew.  He gave her a small pouch of money to use in Chang'an

When Xin Yue arrives in Chang' an, looking for the  spice merchant, she could not find him. Instead, she found herself penniless and kidnapped to be an entertainer in an entertainment house. However, Mo Xun rescued her and had her brought to him. He eventually set her up as the entertainment house mistress since it was what she decided to do.

In the meantime, general Wei Wuji tries to look for her but unsuccessful until she has set up her entertainment house . She was out with the woman who kidnapped her but now as business partners when she finally saw Wei Wuji on a horseback and found out he was a very important man in the city no one wanted to cross.

Somehow, in wanting to help Mo Xun, she created a play featuring the love story of the Princess Pingyang and her husband the Great General Wei and Wei Wuji becomes a frequent patron to her entertainment house, both to see her as well as keep her safe.

Xin Yue falls for Mo Xun wanting to be with him no matter what, but Mo Xun pushes her away, thinking he cannot do well by her and be all that she deserves. General Wei Wuji continuously and tirelessly pursues her, even when Xin Yue runs away broken hearted at Mo Xun's rejection but because of his status, which keeps growing and his ties to the royal family, he cannot marry just her and make her his official wife. Mo Xun eventually start pursuing her again begging for a second chance after Xin Yue has fallen in love and accepted General Wei Wuji as her lover.

Who will she choose in the end? Who will she be with? Who will make the ultimate sacrifice....

I am so in love with these series at the moment..... it is such a pleasure watching this trio untangling their feelings but I am so all for the general Wei Wuji..... huhuhu and oh damnnnnn....
