Food Review: Dim Sum at De Templer Chinese Muslim restaurant

So my dear mother in law was staying with us a few days and she wanted to have dim sum for dinner. She suggested going to De Templer's Chinese Muslim restaurant and so hubby and I agreed.

De Templer is a Chinese Muslim restaurant at Taman Melati , near the Platinum Victory apartments along the middle ring road. It occupies two shoplots and has a surau for  Muslims to pray as well.

Dim Sum is a style of Cantonese food prepared as small bite-sized or individual portions of food traditionally served in small steamer baskets or on small plates. Dim sum is also well known for the unique way it is served in some restaurants, whereby fully cooked and ready-to-serve dim sum dishes are carted around the restaurant for customers to choose their orders while seated at their tables like our case here at De Templer .

My mother in law ordered Chinese Fried Rice to complement her meal as she is one of those people who cannot go without rice. The Chinese Fried Rice is fragrant and yummy, sir fried with green peas, carrots, small diced fish cake and prawns.

Among the dim sums, the Prawn Chee Cheong Fun is a favorite. I have loved it since I was a small child and I can never say no to one or even two plates.... heheheh.

It is made of prawns wrapped in Chee Cheong Fun / rice noodle roll and served with some oil, and soya sauce and prawn sambal.

We also ordered some dumplings, siew mais, and sui kaos and they were just lovely. Now not many malay people eat dim sum and it is not very easy to find a Halal restaurant serving this, and having found one of those restaurants here, it is surely "bookmarked" as one of our favorites to go places for dim sums.. They do have a reasonable variety and well, I'm  hungry..... so bye for now....
