you can forget your passport and flight tickets for these retreats...
If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, there’s no place better than home: Malaysia.. Here are some amazing gems within our lovely country where you can just escape and unwind for a few days.
In Kuala Lumpur itself!!
One of Kuala Lumpur's best kept secret! Hidden within an upscale neighbourhood and discreet from street view, Villa Samadhi feels more like one big private villa rather than a boutique hotel. The entire residence is designed
The villa is only 10 minutes from the vivacious parts of KL city centre, like KLCC and Bukit Bintang. Its collection of 21 rooms is a cluster of highly-stylized units; each different, all spacious and none lack personal detailing. Some have direct access to the huge pool lagoon and most have balconies to laze and chill about while others are equipped with a kitchen. One most favourite in-room feature is the over-sized plunge tub in our big bathrooms.
Villa Samadhi's facade is a design-collage of natural elements; of bamboo, dried grass and salvaged timber all raw yet refined, of earth tones and charcoal floors accented by bursts of contrasting colored fabrics and specks of exquisite Asian antiques.
Psst… TripAdvisor rated it #2 of 245 hotels in Kuala Lumpur.

One hour from KL
Sekeping Serendah Retreat
Situated in Rawang, Selangor, Sekeping Serendah or more fondly known to the public as the glasshouse in the jungle is a great place for you to plan a short trip out of the city with friends and family. What's more interesting than the concept of eco-accomodation is that the houses, divided into three types are kept as natural and industrial as possible with structures made out of steel, natural stones and other earthy elements.
They referred to the houses as 'sheds' and it is intentionally kept far from lavishness, and closer to nature as possible. The sheds is only 5 minutes away from a sleepy town called Serendah, one hour north of Kuala Lumpur. Set within 5 acres of tropical rainforest, you can choose among the 7 types of sheds, all in different price ranges and facilities.
Psst… There are also waterfalls, Orang Asli villages, fishing lakes, the Serendah golf course and jungle treks available nearby for you to explore.

Formerly a British shipping port, Penang's George Town is now a vibrant international metropolis. A UNESCO World Heritage site city, George Town strives to strike a balance between past and future, preserving its heritage buildings as it continues to develop into a vital center of industry and tourism. Experience this unique combination for yourself at Macalister Mansion, a quirky and sophisticated lifestyle destination that nods both to Penang's colonial past and to its colorful present. Each room has its own bespoke features and artwork, from the privately commissioned love sonnet in the Bridal Suite, to the spiral staircase and turret room in Room 4, to the Grace Tan textile piece in Room 7 which pays tribute to the tartan colors of the Macalister clan. The rest of the hotel is equally thought-out: two restaurants offer options for casual or fine dining, a mosaic lap pool is attached to a "swim-up" bar, and visitors to The Cellar can enjoy a glass of exquisite wine or champagne.
Psst… CNN listed it as one of its 9 Best Luxury Resorts in Malaysia!
