How to make infused water

Water is important to all living things. Everyone needs to drink water and we are supposed to drink at least 8 glasses a day. And living in a humid tropical country like Malaysia makes it even much more of a necessity

Just by adding a few slices of fruit, or vegetable, into our daily intake of water, we can benefit our mind, body, and soul at the same time. Adding a few slices of whole fruits and vegetables heightens minerals and vitamins that our bodies can easily and quickly consume, and at the same time are so delicious and tempting that we may find ourselves drinking more water than we have in the past.

HOW TO MAKE INFUSED WATER

You can infuse water with any number of herbs, spices, edible flowers, fruit and even vegetables! Here are some ideas:
  • Herbs: Rosemary, thyme, mint, basil, cilantro, parsley
  • Spices: Cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, fresh ginger, cloves
  • Edible flowers: Rose, hibiscus
  • Fruit: Berries (fresh or frozen), melon, tropical fruits, citrus, apples, pears
  • Vegetables: Cucumber, celery
  • Water: Filtered water is great, but if you don’t have a filtration system, tap water is fine too.

Try combining sliced apples and cinnamon sticks.....Combine two cored and thinly sliced apples (your favorite variety) with two whole cinnamon sticks

Or some sliced pears and ginger.....Stir together two cored and sliced pears and 4 thin slices fresh ginger.

My favourite would be this... I never have enough of kiwi, lemon and strawberry....Combine 1 cup halved strawberries, one thinly sliced kiwi, and 1/2 thinly sliced lemon. Gently muddle all of the ingredients together.

Scrunch 3 mint sprigs to release flavor. Combine them with one thinly sliced cucumber and two thinly sliced limes.

watermelon mint, chop a generous slice of watermelon and add 2 sprigs of mint in

Oranges and Cilantro or you can also use mint.....Slice one full orange and use 2 sprigs of cilantro or mint....

How about some kiwi and lime. Use two kiwi and 1/2 lemon (juice) for this. It is very cleansing for the body because of the alkaline content in the drink

In this jar, you can used cucumbers, lime or lemon (in this case, we are using lime), strawberries and fresh mint. The cucumber, mint and lime make the water taste so refreshing and bright! And the strawberries just add a tiny touch of natural sweetness. If you like a stronger flavor, you could also muddle the mix-ins (mush them up) before pouring in your water. Then leave it for 10-15 mins or more before drinking it.
