Resorts World Genting : Behind-the- Scenes Tour

The "Behind -The -Scenes Tour" is now the most happening thing at the Resorts World Genting. It is an edu-taining and interesting activity for visitors at the resort. The "Behind -The -Scenes Tour" started in early May and is currently on-going till date. What started off as a monthly tour eventually became a weekly event because of the great response from participants.

The tour which takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes now happen every weekend. The "Behind -The -Scenes Tour" starts of with a visit to the Visitors' Galleria where visitors can learn about the history of Genting Highlands and what is coming up next. My friends and I were thrilled to learn about the fascinating history of how Genting Highlands came to be....

There we saw the scaled down model of the whole Resorts World Gentings as well as all the trophies, accolades and appreciations collected through the decades

Some of the exciting news would be the latest development of the resort and the upcoming Twentieth Century Fox World. I am so excited about that too...

Take the time to immerse yourself and be motivated in the amazing journey of discovery of the resort's founder, the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, from how an insignificant immigrant with a few dollars in his pocket became one of the most internationally well known tycoon.

Next, we were taken to the Genting International Showroom where Resorts World Genting technical experts showed us how they manage the back stage, the lighting and sound system which is one of the most elements in any shows or event to set the mood and so on.

It was definitely eye opening and interesting how some buttons ,  knobs and switches can create so much difference.

The kids and adults present were definitely were awed by this and had fun snapping pictures in different lighting backgrounds.

After we finished at the Genting International Showroom , we were taken back to the First World Hotel, where we got into the staff lift and were transported to an entirely different world- the First World Hotel's laundry. This is the largest hotel laundry in Malaysia.

It was a really mind blowing experience seeing how to the hotel managed tons and tons of dirty laundry from over 6000 ++ rooms

Mr Lucas was the laundry manager (Oh gosh-I hope I got the name and designation right as it is from memory) there and he showed us around....

It was really eye opening seeing the semi automated laundry work nonstop processing the dirty sheets, pillow cases, and all and fresh clean laundry appearing at the end of the chain...

Then there was this ironing and folding machine which folds the bed sheets perfectly... Oh gosh...

See here for the short video :Bed Sheet Machine

We also were shown an amazing steam machine that "irons" your shirts in just 26 seconds... many of us ladies sighed and wished we had one of those... but oh no... it is not affordable at all at RM150k per machine.... >_<

It was indeed a rare and very, very interesting not to be missed occasion.. Very enlightening ...

The "Behind-the-Scenes tour" ended with the last activity known as the See, Do and Eat workshop.

We were taken to a function room where tables had been set up. And we were invited to try our hands at the two activities . First we were shown how to make cupcakes and also sushi and then we could make our own.

My little girl Cutiemonkee tried her hand at the Sushi making as she loves sushi while her mom decided to go with the simple cupcake decorating....

My plate with my selected ingredients....

Squeezing out some buttercream....and then use all the ingredients given.....

Tadaaaa..... my little cuppie... done...... Bon Appetit.....

One more skill to add to my repertoire...
